The New Bikepacking Cookbook Will Level Up Your Camp Cooking!

Friends of mine have just launched The Bikepacking Cookbook.

For many years, Sam and Bec have been known as bougie camp cookers. I’ve heard it from people they have travelled with, seen it in their social media posts, and witnessed their passion for food first-hand. This food-obsessed bikepacking couple has now ridden (and eaten) on five continents, collecting recipes and adapting them for bike travellers.

The small touring community I bounce within has been begging Sam and Bec to share their damn recipes and cooking tips…

Well, that day has finally come.

Introducing The Bikepacking Cookbook

The Bikepacking Cookbook features some beautiful illustrations.

The Bikepacking Cookbook is an 88-page digital cookbook designed to help take the stress out of cooking on a bikepacking trip. Filled with 26 trail-tested recipes, dozens of tips + tricks, and heaps of inspiration to transform your bikepacking meals from campsite calamity to trailside triumph.

Sam and Bec have adapted the recipes they’ve been refining over the years to suit the constraints of travelling by bike. The recipes inside The Bikepacking Cookbook have also been carefully designed to suit a variety of riders and dietary requirements.

Here is Sam in his element and cooking some amazing food.

The majority of the recipes are naturally vegetarian or vegan due to the perishability of meat and animal products. In fact, Sam and Bec consulted me to make sure it was vegan-friendly enough as I have been travelling the world plant-powered for over a decade now!

To make your life super easy, there are plant-powered ingredient alternatives to all the relevant recipes. That means that everything can easily be adapted to veg/vegan – just look for the “plant-powered?” notes to find suitable alternatives.

There aren’t any special ingredients that need to be sourced in fancy supermarkets in high-income countries like the US. The recipes have been tested and cooked all over the world, and Sam and Bec have tried to make it open to as many countries as possible.

There are some ingredients in there like curry pastes and spice blends but they’re found all over the world, or easy to sub out with something else.
